Avengers: Endgame and Agent Carter star James D’Arcy has opened up about his potential future at Marvel.
The actor played Edwin Jarvis in Agent Carter, alongside lead character Hayley Atwell, and appeared in a cameo in the same role in Joe and Anthony Russo’s Endgame.
“I loved the experience and I was very lucky: the Russo brothers were very, very good to me and very kindly invited me to come back to Endgame briefly, which was amazing,” D’Arcy told Digital Spy.
“And, you know, like I said before, the Marvel Universe is a fun old place. Nobody ever died. And now they’re in the metaverse,” the actor added, presumably referring to the multiverse, which opened up in Loki and Spider-Man. : No Way Home. D’Arcy also said that he would be open to a return and explained that he “loves playing Jarvis”.
Agent Carter was on the air for two seasons, but his status in Marvel canon is up in the air. Similarly, the Netflix shows, now streaming on Disney Plus under the new name Defenders Saga, may or may not be MCU canon. Charlie Cox’s Daredevil did appear in No Way Home, however, and Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin had a role in Hawkeye.
“They are doing everything they can to keep Daredevil in canon. Hawkeye is part of the canon of what we did in Daredevil,” D’Onofrio told GamesRadar+. With a Daredevil reboot apparently in production, the mystery could be cleared up sooner rather than later.
Next on the list of Marvel releases is Doctor Strange 2, which is another multiverse adventure. Meanwhile, Moon Knight continues weekly on Disney Plus.
