How to access your iCloud Keychain passwords in Chrome for Windows

How to install iCloud for Windows

To set up iCloud for Windows for use with the iCloud Passwords Chrome extension, you must download iCloud for Windows from the Microsoft Store before you can get the extension to work.

Open the Start menu, search for “Microsoft Store” and open the app.

Now, whenever you need to fill in account information, your username and password will be automatically filled in, and when you create new accounts, you’ll also be prompted to add those new credentials to iCloud.

If you use multiple Apple accounts, be sure to sign in to the iCloud account in Windows that’s linked to all of your keychain information; otherwise, iCloud passwords won’t have access to the necessary information.

A note to long-time Windows iCloud users

If you’ve used iCloud for Windows before, you might need to reinstall or update the app first. This Keychain feature is exclusive to iCloud in Windows 10 and requires iCloud for Windows version 12 or later.

The best way to make sure you have the correct version of iCloud is to download iCloud from the Microsoft Store and keep this app up to date. In the iCloud app for Windows, you can see your software version in the upper-right corner of the app window.
