How to Add Email Accounts to Windows Live Mail

  • Manual: Manually configure server settings > Following and enter the required information.
  • Windows 10 Mail: Add an account > Settings > Management accounts > Add an account and enter your email account information.

How to add email accounts to Outlook

Windows Live Mail was discontinued in 2016, but instructions for adding email accounts remain here for those still using it. Instructions for the Windows Mail application are also included.

How to add email accounts to Windows Live Mail

Add new accounts through the interface.

select blue Windows Live Messaging located in the upper left corner of the application window.

When the menu appears, select Choice then choose E-mail accounts.

When the Accounts dialog box appears, select the Add button.

To select Email account as the type of account you want to add to Windows Live Mail.

Enter your email account and login credentials with the option to set your display name. make sure of that remember this password is selected if the computer is not shared. Uncheck this option or create multiple Windows user accounts to improve your privacy.

With more than one account, to make the account you are adding the default account, select the Make it my default email account checkbox

Manual server configuration

To select Manually configure server settings and click Following to add an account that is not recognized. Add information to connect to mail servers. After entering these settings, Windows Live should be able to retrieve emails without issue.

Add an account to Windows Mail

In Windows 10, use the Windows Mail app. Also, if you use your Microsoft account to sign in to your computer, that email address is already set up in the Mail app.

Accessing the Mail app and adding additional email accounts to it is simple.

Type post in the search box in the lower right corner of the taskbar and select messaging app in the search results.

A welcome page will appear if this is your first time using the Mail app. If so, select Add an account and go to step 4. If you have used the app before, select Settings in the lower-left corner of the Mail window and select Management accounts.

Enter your account login information and select Following.
