This article explains how to manage browsing history in Safari for iPad, including how to view and delete Safari history, cookies, and stored website data on iPad. How to view and delete your iPad’s browsing history in Safari

Reviewing your iPad’s browser history is a simple process. Safari stores a record of the websites you visit, as well as other related components, such as cache and cookies. These items enhance your browsing experience, but you may want to delete your browsing history for privacy reasons.

You can manage your web browsing history on iPad in two ways. The easiest option is to do it directly in Safari:

Open the Safari web browser.

Select the Markers icon (it looks like an open book) at the top of the screen.

Select the Watch icon to open History window. A list of sites visited during the last month is displayed.

To remove a single website from your browser history, swipe left on its name.

How to delete history and cookies from the iPad Settings app

Deleting your browser history through Safari doesn’t delete all the data it stores. For a deep clean, head over to the iPad Settings application. You can also delete your browsing history and cookies from the Settings app. Clearing history this way deletes everything Safari has saved.

Select the gear icon on the home screen to open iPad Settings.

How to delete website data stored on iPad

Safari sometimes stores additional website data in addition to a list of web pages you’ve visited. For example, you can save passwords and preferences for frequently visited sites. If you want to delete this data but don’t want to clear your browsing history or cookies, selectively delete specific data saved by Safari using the iPad’s Settings app.
